There have always been a special place for the mentally ill throughout civilization, well, at least where they didn't kill them which was probably most places for most of human history. But as the science and progressive moments begun to emerge we have decided it was worth keeping them alive. For experimentation purposes obviously, progress.
I always wanted to do good for science and humanity, some sort of idealist i suppose. Waste of time really, if it were really human we'd just go back to killing them all, but we didn't. We cut, poked, chopped, prodded, removed, replaced anything we could. Don't get us wrong, we were trying to be murderers, for sake of science we tried our damned to keep them alive...for the most part, unfortunate abominations have been known to occur during some experimentations.
Either way, we did what we did, there's no going back now. So long as humans believe God created the universe they will try to figure our how to replicate it and thus play god themselves. the hauntings at the asylum, those are just the beginning.
